The title refers to English poet Dylan Thomas. The recitation of his own poem Lament, recorded by the English radio a few years before his death, concludes the composition. It is an independent layer superimposed on the layer of the orchestral music. Dylan Thomas’ poetry is simple and direct. So is the music.
